1991-1994 borns - Starting Professional's Elite Education & Development Squad (SPEED)

Summer Training Program

Available to 1995-2001 borns and training is conducted parallel to the other elite squads.

 

Trainee Elite Development Squad (TEDS)

This is the initial phase of the IQ Football development pathway. It is relevant to 8 - 10 year olds.

The aim of this program is to introduce the concept of 'the boy & the ball'. That is, ball familiarisation and ball mastery by the individual player. Basic technique is developed in order for the young player to be able to control and release a ball effectively and efficiently.

The training program that will be undertaken by the squad will include the following:

* Technical correction

* Basic tactical awareness

* Speed & agility development

The program involves 100+ hours of intense training in a quality environment consisting of qualified instruction. The ultimate aim of the program is to enable players to develop their first touch, develop good technical habits and establish good body movement with the ball.


Junior Elite Training Squad (JETS)

This is the secondary phase of the IQ Football development pathway. It is relevant to 11-12 year olds.

   

The aim of this program is to fast-track the technical development of each individual player. This will be accomplished by employing a holistic approach to training. That is, the training program that will be undertaken by the squad will include the following:

* Technical correction

* Tactical awareness

* Speed & agility development

* Strength & conditioning

The program involves 100+ hours of intense training in a quality environment consisting of qualified instruction. The ultimate aim of the program is to enable players to receive then distribute the ball efficiently and effectively and retain possession when under pressure. It introduces the concepts of spatial awareness and speed of thought.

Pathway Development Program (PDP)

This is the tertiary phase of the IQ Football development pathway. It is relevant to 13-14 year olds..

The aim of this program is to fast-track the technical and tactical development of each individual player. This will be accomplished by employing a holistic approach to training. That is, the training program that will be undertaken by the squad will include the following:

* Technical correction

* Tactical awareness

* Speed & agility development

* Strength & conditioning

* Athlete Time Management

The program involves 100+ hours of intense training in a quality environment consisting of qualified instruction. The ultimate aim of the program is to enable players to receive then distribute the ball efficiently and effectively and retain possession when under pressure. It further develops the concepts of spatial awareness and speed of thought.

Starting Professional's Elite Education and Development Squad (SPEED)

This is the final phase of the IQ Football development pathway. It is relevant to 15-18 year olds..

The aim of this program is to educate the promising youth athlete in advancing to the level of a professional player either here or overseas. The player's technical ability is polished and their tactical nous is sharpened.

The training program that will be undertaken by the squad will include the following:

* Technical correction

* Tactical awareness

* Speed & agility development

* Strength & conditioning

* Athlete Time Management

The program involves 100+ hours of intense training in a quality environment consisting of qualified instruction.

The ultimate objective of this program is to enable an individual player to be able to play in any shape or structure implemented by any prospective club that they may find themselves trialing for.

Summer Training Program (STP)

This program is conducted in Term 4 and consists of 27 sessions. It provides a course of training for players that are unable to commit to the other elite yearly programs. The program is based on the elite program's curriculum relevant to the age group of the athlete.
